Gently Led Yoga and Meditation for Peace

Relax and unwind in the peaceful setting of the Museum in this gentle-to-moderate yoga class for all levels. Doors open at 5:30 and students are welcome to spend time in the galleries before joining the class in the auditorium. Students should be able to come up and down off their mat with ease, and can expect:
- A 60–75-minute class
- To bring their own mat, pillow, and blanket
- An active class with some standing poses
- Gentle music to accompany the class
- Centering, breath awareness practice, warm-ups, posture sequence – available chairs will be used as a prop
- Guided meditation to end the class

Back in 2005, in a small, long-established studio in Buffalo, New York, I took my very first yoga class. Thanks to this first teacher, I knew immediately that yoga was more than an exercise practice. After moving back to Massachusetts, I sought out a yoga studio near me where I could continue to experience the tradition of yoga, a practice rooted in lessening suffering and inviting peace. Finding the continuation of that first studio and that first teacher in West Boylston, I craved being led in the practice more and more through all the changes and challenges life has to offer. The more often I practiced, the more I experienced the holistic benefits to my health and well-being. This personal experience strongly influences my teaching. It was here in the state where I was born and raised, that I felt the inspiration to become a teacher myself, and followed the urging to go west again, this time to Kripalu Center of Yoga and Health. Since graduating from there in 2019, I have been leading studio classes and virtual classes in Hatha yoga, taught trauma-informed yoga classes for veterans, as well as local outreach classes to young adult populations in both high school and college. For me, yoga is ‘every day,’ and I am actively a student of the practice with a passion for learning as much as I can in the hope that I am able to help restore a sense of beauty and balance to a student’s life as it is right now. “yy yoga” was born out of my journey into wonder with this beautiful practice as my companion. With an open heart I look forward to our time together and welcome you to yoga. I am honored to be your teacher.
