Tea Room Talk: Pushkin Fairy Tales Forever
Tuesday, March 6, 1pm. Free with admission.
Museum docents Jacqueline Barnard and Sandra Larson will discuss how Grandmother Mariya Gannibal and Nanny Arina Rodionovna influenced Russia’s beloved poet Alexandr Sergeyevich Pushkin, his life, and literary legacy. They’ll also look at representations of Pushkin’s six great fairy tale poems in art: from icons to miniature paintings, lacquered boxes and plates; from illustrated books to operas, ballets, puppetry, films and animation.
