Lecture and Weaving Demonstration with Rabbit Goody

Master weaver Rabbit Goody, PhD, will discuss how Ukrainian rushnyky relate to a larger historic precedent of using specific textiles for traditional ceremonial and cultural purposes. She will demonstrate part of the technique of weaving rushnyky on a loom.

Rabbit Goody is an internationally-known textile historian, researcher, lecturer, and teacher. Her Cherry Hill, New York studio, Thistle Hill Weavers, creates historic reproduction fabrics of the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries for museums, interior designers, and the film industry on antique and hand looms.
