EXHIBIT OPENING: PONDERING MARY, HER STORY THROUGH ICONS
March 18, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
March 18, 5:00-6:00PM
Members Free, Nonmembers $10
Curated by Reverend Chris Visminas, this exhibit of icons from the Museum’s collection will answer many questions about Mary and her life. The Orthodox view of Mary differs distinctly from the Western view. For the Orthodox Mary is a mature woman who has experienced great joy and great sorrow. Her life is filled with dramatic, poignant and miraculous moments both as a young girl and a mature mother. Come see how her life is portrayed in icons; how her relationship with her Son has defined her; and how the Russians have viewed her complex role in salvation. Check the calendar of events for programs relating to this exhibit.
The Symposium is sold out. Please join us at 5:00PM for the reception. RSVP by calling 978.598.5000 x121.
