Join us at 11:00am and 1:00pm for the family-friendly program “Young Curators: Discovering Fairy Tales Through Artifacts.”
Have you ever wondered how curators use art and artifacts to understand and explore other cultures? How can a toy, decoration, or painting tell a story? The Museum of Russian Icons invites curious children of ages 6 and up to explore Slavic fairy tales through a guided, close examination of the marvelous toys and artworks that depict them. Participants will receive their own pair of white museum gloves and learn how museum professionals handle cultural artifacts while listening to tales about the Snow Maiden, Vasilisa the Beautiful, and the Firebird.
