  • Manual wheelchairs are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The Museum also welcomes your personal walkers, wheelchairs, and scooters.
  • Personal care attendants are admitted free of charge.
  • An elevator is available for all floors, and a lift is available to the Tea Room.


Service animals are always welcome in the Museum.


  • Accessible restrooms are located on the lower level of the Museum.
  • The Museum has two single-user, gender-neutral, accessible restrooms. One is located on the lower level, and the second is in the Tea Room.
  • A baby changing station is available in the single-user restroom.


While the Museum does not have its own parking, several nearby parking options are available. Street parking is free on the perimeter of Central Park on Union, Church, and Walnut Streets.

  • An accessible parking spot is located directly in front of the Museum.
  • A free public parking lot is also located on Walnut Street between the First Congregational Church and Baptist Church.
  • Parking at the Clinton Presbyterian Church, 175 Chestnut Street, is also available for Museum visitors.


Portable stools are available throughout the galleries.

The museum is generally a relatively quiet place although it can get busy at certain times. If you are sensitive to noise, you may consider bringing noise-canceling headphones.

Tactile elements are available at the Museum upon request, and tactile and/or verbal description tours can be arranged by contacting the museum (two weeks’ advance notice is appreciated).
