Kid's Corner
The Museum of Russian Icons understands the importance of introducing
children to museums at an early age. Recently, we have designed family-friendly
additions to our galleries to make for a more enjoyable family experience.
Our newly-launched Kid’s Corner provides a place for children and their families to explore, touch, and learn in a variety of ways during their visit. Located in the South Gallery on the second floor, the area features children’s books in both English and Russian, tactile objects to explore, games and more. Each activity provides children the opportunity to learn more about Russian culture, art, and icons while building upon skills such as early literacy, and recognition of shapes, colors, and pattern.
Want to hear a story? Ask about our complimentary folklore-based audio tour for those interested legend-based trip around the galleries.
Feel like going on a hunt? Our Alphabet Gallery Guide provides those little ones learning their alphabet a chance to review their letters while sharpening their looking skills. Older children can also take advantage of one of two Discovery Guides. One free gallery guide is available for each child, please ask about guides upon arrival.
On your next family visit explore and enjoy our newest additions!
